Michael D Joyce Associates LLP routinely undertake the independent verification and validation of ground gas membranes and gas protection systems in accordance with CIRIA C735 “Good Practice on the testing and verification of protection systems for buildings against hazardous ground gases” and British Standard BS8485, “Code of Practice for the design of protective measures for methane and carbon dioxide ground gases for new buildings”.

The current guidance requires independent certification where gas protection measures are required.  This is normally carried out during construction of the sub-floor void and once the gas resistant membrane has been placed.  The frequency of these inspections varies depending upon the risks associated with each site.

Our verification reports provide the necessary documentation to show that the gas protection measures have been installed correctly, and to satisfy the requirements of the regulators.
